What is ? in vi(m) editor?

 You know this symbol (?). How it works in editor vi and command less?

1) for example: vi /etc/fstab

- ? is for searching

- check on the screenshot

- question mark (?) is for searching as you can see on this screenshot

- in command mode line you see question mark (?)

2) in less command

/ - forward search

? - backward search
